The vision of Rekreation.Art

I wanted Rekreation.Art to be more than just a stale digital gallery. I want to build a community by critically engaging art and its potential to inspire social change with the help of the rising concept of decentralisation using blockchain* technology. I quickly found a team who helped develop the vision of a crypto art gallery into something bigger – something that will sustain our deeper mission to help artists make their statements and a sustainable living.

Current popular NFT platforms are built on proof-of-work** networks and have high minting costs and intensive energy consumption. I wanted to make sure this project is as environmentally friendly as possible, and the daVinci platform, created in the Harmony network, was the best solution. Not only does NFT minting cost less, it uses 99% less energy than other networks. It’s enabling a new, sustainable generation of art and is poised to bring a unified marketplace for creators and collectors. By working with the crypto art market and decentralised finance, we can reach new fans and build multiple income streams for our creative community, while not stifling or compromising artistic integrity.

But we’re not just here to sell art. We want to send a strong message on social issues through the arts and explore the potential for critical engagement. In a world and culture dominated by soulless visual stimuli, we believe art helps us understand what other forms of research can’t explain. Participatory art and social activism are powerful forms of communication and we will use these tools to build a place where the artists and fans can interact and grow together as a community. Through our channels we support discussions that are sometimes challenging, but only if they are inclusive, tolerant, educational and respectful. Everyone has the right to feel safe.

As we grow we will engage with social movements and humanitarian organizations through art to encourage audiences to think out of the box and enhearten critical thinking. We hope these actions will support both artists and NGOs.

We also strive to make it easy for artists, fans and collectors to find creatives in one spot, and know their involvement in crypto is not harming the planet.

When I realised the potential of blockchain technology and what it’s decentralised structure could offer, I wanted to make sure my crew didn’t miss out, especially at a time when our work opportunities are so limited due to Covid. There’s a new way to add value to our work and I see Rekreation.Art as a chance for me to share my knowledge and research with the alternative community to help those who don’t have the time to learn or technology to do it themselves.

If our goals align with yours, get in touch! We’re always looking for more creative souls to get involved and contribute to our expanding community. And the time is now to learn about this new technology revolutionising digital arts. Hit us up to find out more or to start your collection.

* Blockchain is the name of a whole new technology. As the name states, it is a sequence of blocks or groups of transactions that are chained together and distributed among the users.

In the end, it works as an immutable record of transactions that do not require to rely on an external authority to validate the authenticity and integrity of the data. Transactions are typically economic, but we can store any kind of information in the blocks.

* *Proof-of-work (PoW) is a decentralized consensus mechanism that requires members of a network to expend effort solving an arbitrary mathematical puzzle to prevent anybody from gaming the system. Proof of work is used widely in cryptocurrency mining, for validating transactions and mining new tokens.
